About
Lime Tree Design started out as a kitchen table business back in 2008 when a move from London to a rural Nottinghamshire village with small children opened up new possibilities.
It quickly grew from strength to strength driven by my love of vintage jewellery (particularly lockets) pattern, colour and above all original and interesting design - having had 15 years experience in the gift and design business. Our collection developed further when joined by designer Julia Wright who brought with her technical expertise and a passion for sculpture, which you can see in our charm range. Her skills with textiles also came in very useful!
We still work with a small team in our village studio and are supported by the craftsmen in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter amongst others. Our jewellery designs are all created by using traditional methods and then made in sterling silver, gold vermeil and rose-gold vermeil. We also make a capsule collection in solid gold and can create bespoke pieces if needed. For us the customer is always at the heart of what we do. Creating pieces that people will give, wear and cherish is for us the ultimate job satisfaction.
Our love of classic English design led us to use Liberty Tana Lawn in our lavender sachet range. The quirky boxes of fish, birds and now hearts have been a best seller for a number of years and are sold in a range of shops from Liberty of London, to galleries and boutiques around the world. They are all handmade in our village by a team of expert needlewomen who bring all their years of experience to create this product.
Recently we have been exploring the traditional skill of block printing using eco dyes and using the talents of craftsmen in Jaipur. Our textile range includes bandanas, hankies, face masks, kimonos, tunics and our newest product; Pyjamas!
